Ashna Mahepal is a PM4R certified Project Manager with 10 years of Project Management and contract administration experience. She has worked with national and international teams with various expertise and backgrounds on projects ranging from improving business competitiveness (on a national scale) to building regional integration infrastructure (Roads and Bridges).
She has worked in Suriname and in Washington DC (USA) and has been a representative (of Latin American and Caribbean Countries at the Fulbright H.H.H. Global Leadership Forum) in Washington DC. She has been a speaker at events in Michigan, Charlotte - North Carolina, Washington DC and Reykjavik Iceland (Women Economic Forum) and has initiated and launched several activities (in Suriname and the USA) in cooperation with international organisations such as the U.S State Department, the United Nations Association GL, Michigan State UNA and the Inter-American Development Bank.
Her passion lies in the social entrepreneurial as well as in the Technological and Innovative businesses sphere for building competitive edge. She believes that inspiration combined with competence is a powerful tool-set to get things done and therefor enables empowering of young people through inspirational experiences as well as through practical skills building by involvement in projects supporting positive change.
She has studied at Michigan State University (Broad Collage of Business), has a Masters degree in Governance from Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering - Information Technology from the Technological Faculty of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. She is a certified lecturer and has furthermore completed several courses on Contract management in Aruba and Jamaica and on Quality Management Systems (in India).
